Here's a recent staining job we did
This is when we got hired to stain this beautiful home on lake Sunapee. Cedar shakes were installed 6 years prior and never treated which is why black mold and algae took over. The customers wanted a semi-trans stain which meant all of this needed to be cleaned to a like-new state to achieve this look.
This is after we stained this cedar shake house. Now the stairs...
stairs were pressure washed, stained to match the decks and docks, and the risers were done in a solid color exterior white stain.
In the process of being scrubbed and pressure washed.
First, we sprayed & scrubbed...a lot...with a solution of oxygenated bleach for the mold and mildew, and rinsed. Second, we sprayed a solution of Oxalic Acid to clean the tannin stains.
Lastly, and after a lot of careful scrubbing and pressure washing, the shakes are now cleaned and prepped for stain. Now, 2 weeks to dry before applying stain.
After 2 weeks of dry time. It's ready to start staining! Very happy with the outcome so far!
